Adult Small Group Bible Studies - Spring 2020

February 9 – March 29

Small groups exist as a way for people to engage in Biblical community that helps them become more like Jesus in every area of their lives. When we take the risk of being authentic with a small group of people, we can experience God’s grace and love coming through others, which leads to freedom and transformation. Like iron sharpening iron, the relationships we form within our small communities can become a tool for God to use in our character transformation. The following classes will meet at Friendship February 9 through March 29, from 6:00-7:00 pm. If you would like more information about a particular study, please email [email protected].

Jesus Among Other Gods

In a world with so many religions, why Jesus?

We are living in a time when you can believe anything, as long as you do not claim it to be true. In the name of “tolerance,” our postmodern culture embraces everything from Eastern mysticism to New Age spirituality. But as Ravi Zacharias points out, such unquestioning acceptance of all things spiritual is absurd. All religions, plainly and simply, cannot be true.

Jesus Among Other Gods provides the answers to the most fundamental claims about Christianity, such as:

  • Aren’t all religions fundamentally the same?
  • Was Jesus who He claimed to be?
  • Can one study the life of Christ and demonstrate conclusively that He was and is the way, the truth, and the life?

Class meets in Modular Unit 1B.
No cost.

Old Testament Survey 1

Step by Step Through the Old Testament provides a framework for understanding and interpreting the Old Testament, and teaches biblical background material.

Class meets in Modular Unit 1 A.
No cost.

Like No Other

Jesus Christ is central to the Christian faith. That statement may seem obvious, but even Christians need a constant reminder that everything in our faith is built upon the person and work of Jesus Christ. Every aspect of Jesus’ life – from His birth to His current exalted state – is unique from any other person. His uniqueness means His life and character merit our fullest attention, and because He is uniquely God, His life and character greatly impact our lives.
